Independent Living: New Residence Hall in Newark to Serve Students from Various School
A new 812-bed residence hall under construction in downtown Newark, N.J., could ameliorate the city's inadequate housing options for students.

In the living spaces, students can choose a single or double room in various suite layouts and would not have to share a bathroom with more than one roommate. Each student will have a sink and vanity for personal items while sharing a shower and toilet.
The set-up required extensive planning, said Rob Barbera, vice president and general manager for Hunter Roberts.
"The amenities design underscores the importance of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical coordination early on," he added. "We have been working with the architects and designers to minimize suprises in the field."
